Juicing
At the time of my cancer diagnosis, I had a condition called leaky gut syndrome, unbeknownst to me. Leaky gut syndrome is typically not diagnosed, and from everything I have read, it could be one of the most unrecognized epidemics of our time. Leaky gut syndrome is a digestive condition in which the small intestine becomes damaged - the gut lining becomes permeable, causing bacteria and toxins to leak through the intestinal wall and spill out into the bloodstream.

Signs you may have a leaky gut:
-
Chronic diarrhea, constipation, gas, or bloating
-
Nutritional deficiencies
-
Poor immune system
-
Headaches, brain fog, memory loss
-
Excessive fatigue
-
Skin rashes and problems such as acne, eczema, or rosacea
-
Sugar and carbohydrate cravings
-
Arthritis or joint pain
-
Depression, anxiety, ADD, ADHD
-
Autoimmune diseases such as lupus, celiac, rheumatoid arthritis, or Crohn's
Leaky gut syndrome causes cell damage making it difficult to produce the enzymes needed for proper digestion. Without proper digestion, the body cannot absorb essential minerals, enzymes, and nutrients, leading to malabsorption, hormone imbalances, and a weakened immune system.
Juicing lifts antioxidant levels and provides the minerals, enzymes, and vitamins, and because it's a straight shot to the digestive system, it supports your body's natural healing abilities. Start slowly with juicing as it can cause a detox effect, which may cause flu-like symptoms. I suggest drinking no more than 4 ounces to start and build from there. I drank 32 oz a day during my cancer healing phase.

What to Juice

Fresh greens are a fantastic way to boost your antioxidant levels. The minerals, enzymes, and vitamins support your body's natural healing abilities. In addition, carrots, celery, ginger, Tumeric, and beets add a depth of nutritional enrichment.

Juicer

I tried several juicers and found the Breville works best for me. It is easy to clean, and I enjoy the purity and the smoothness of the juice. However, the best juicer is one you're going to use. Click here for the juicer I use.

Don't Have Time?

I juiced every day for six months. Since my surgery, I haven't been as focused on juicing as I have been packing the highest nutrition possible into each day, including a gluten-free, organic, green powder. Click here for the one I use.
